Nanjing

Evan and I took an overnight trip to Nanjing. We spent several depressing hours at the Massacre Museum to learn more about the Japanese/Chinese war...the most chilling part was that we were able to vist the site of one of the mass graves and see actual human remains. To lift our spirits afterwards, we went and walked around the Confuscious Temple area and had a lot of delicious street food.

I just ran across your blog after not visiting it for a few months, and I noticed all your wonderful shots of China. I lived and worked in China for 5 months in 1980 (yes, way back than), and it was such fun to view the photos of so many places I also visited back then (in Nanjing and Beijing). I can see changes in some of the shots, but it's interesting to see Chairman Mao still hanging over the entrance to the forbidden city after all these years.
